Training & Development Practitioner Certificate

The Training & Development Practitioner Certificate (Occupational Certificate: Training & Development Practitioner – Qualification 101321) is proudly offered by LEDISA Academy in the form of 7 Knowledge Modules, 7 Practical Modules and 7 Workplace Experience Modules.  All twenty-one modules are compulsory programmes and learners complete the learning programme over a minimum period of 12 months and maximum of 24 months. This Learning Programme consists of 190 Credits on NQF Level 5.

Purpose of this Training & Development Practitioner Certificate

The purpose of this Training & Development Practitioner Certificate is to prepare learners to operate as a Training & Development Practitioner. A Training & Development Practitioner plans, writes learning objectives, selects and adapts learning resources required for the delivery of learning interventions, and facilitates learning in an occupational context.

The New QCTO Standard

This Occupational Certificate does not replace any other NQF Qualification, but is comparable with Qualification 50334: National Certificate: Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices. This occupational certificate will be the accredited standard from 1 July 2023 and is a NQF Level 5 Certification (190 Credits). This occupational certificate includes the following part qualifications:

  • Occupational Certificate: Learning & Development Facilitator. NQF Level 5. National Credits 36.
  • Occupational Certificate: Assessment Practitioner. NQF Level 5. National Credits 20.
  • Occupational Certificate: Skills Development Facilitation Practitioner. NQF Level 5. National Credits 40.
  • Occupational Certificate: Work-Based Learning & Development Practitioner. NQF Level 5. National Credits 30.

What is the minimum entry requirements?

  • Communication at NQF Level 4.
  • Basic English Literary Skills at NQF Level 4.
  • Recognition of Prior Learning: This qualification can be achieved wholly or in part through Recognition of Prior Learning in terms of the defined exit level outcomes and/or individual part qualifications.

    • PM-01: Manage and coordinate logistics, facilities and financial resources. NQF Level 5. Credits 8.
    • PM-02: Plan, conduct and report on a learning and development needs analysis. NQF Level 5. Credits 16.
    • PM-03: Plan the delivery of an occupational learning intervention. NQF Level 5. Credits 16.
    • PM-04: Facilitate different methodologies, training styles and techniques within an occupational learning context. NQF Level 5. Credits 12.
    • PM-05: Facilitate experiential work-based learning. NQF Level 5. Credits 8.
    • PM-06: Plan and conduct the assessment of learner competencies. NQF Level 5. Credits 8.
    • PM-07: Evaluate the impact of learning within an occupational context. NQF Level 5. Credits 8.

    • WM-02: Conduct skills development facilitation (SDF) processes as required for mandatory grant payments. NQF Level 5. Credits 8.

    • WM-04: Facilitate an occupational learning session. NQF Level 5. Credits 8.
    • WM-05: Facilitate a work-based learning and development process. NQF Level 5. Credits 8.

Delivery Method & Language

The programme is facilitated in English by a competent subject matter specialist/s, who utilises the following techniques to ensure that the session is practical and experiential: Lecture, Exercises, Discussion, Role Plays, Case Studies, PowerPoint Presentation, Videos, Simulations, and Learner Assessment. Study Methods include workshop training, blended online learning and in-house/on-site training.

Certification

  • Upon successful completion, the learner will receive a Letter of Competence issued by LEDISA Academy.
  • Upon verified Competence, the learner will receive a Certificate of Competence as well as a Statement of Results issued by the Quality Council for Trade & Occupations (QCTO).
