Skills Development Facilitation Practitioner
The Skills Development Facilitation Practitioner Course focus on concepts related to establishing learning and development needs as related to organisational success and operational needs.
SAQA regulations stipulate that prospective skills development facilitation practitioners who wish to register and be accredited as such, must be competent and need a certificate against the part-qualification: Skills Development Facilitation Practitioner – NQF Level 5, Credits 40.
The New QCTO Standard
This part-qualification replaces SAQA Unit Standards 15217, 15218, 15221, 15227, 15232 & 123396 and will be the accredited standard as from 1 July 2023. The course forms part of the Occupational Certificate: Training & Development Practitioner, and 40 credits will be granted against this qualification to all successful candidates.

What is the minimum entry requirements?
- Basic English Communication Skills on NQF Level 4
Learning Approach
- Our workshops and in-house courses run over three to five days. Portfolios and final assessment are completed on the last day of the workshop of the normal 3-day or 5-day Power Workshop.
- 3-Day Online training through Webinar Sessions over Zoom or our Groove Webinar Platform.
- Blended e-Learning: Learners set their own learning pace and complete the programme based on the time available. This can be done within a few hours, one to two weeks or even within a three months.
How long does it take to complete the Skills Development Facilitation Practitioner Course?
- Workshop attendance: 5 Days, thereafter 6 weeks for submission of Portfolio of Evidence.
- Power Course: Including Portfolio of Evidence: 5 Days (In-house only)
- Online Webinar Course: 5 Days
- Blended e-Learning option: 8 Weeks to complete self-study & 8 weeks to complete final assessment Phase.

- Conduct Skills Development Facilitation (SDF) processes as required for mandatory grant payments – NQF Level 5, Credits 8
- Complete an assignment in an authentic work environment on skills development facilitation processes under the guidance of a subject matter expert
- Establish the mandatory grant payment requirements and evaluation criteria of a selected SETA and compile a report on compliance criteria and common problems experienced with submission to the SETA
- Compile a Workplace Skills Plan that meets the compliance criteria of the selected SETA
- Compile a Workplace Implementation Report that meets the compliance criteria of the selected SETA
- Complete an assignment in an authentic work environment on skills development facilitation processes under the guidance of a subject matter expert

Delivery Method & Language
The programme is facilitated in English by a competent subject matter specialist/s, who utilises the following techniques to ensure that the session is practical and experiential: Lecture, Exercises, Discussion, Role Plays, Case Studies, PowerPoint Presentation, Videos, Simulations, and Learner Assessment. Study Methods include workshop training, blended online learning and in-house/on-site training.
Certification
- Upon successful completion, the learner will receive a Letter of Competence issued by LEDISA Academy.
- Upon verified Competence, the learner will receive a Certificate of Competence as well as a Statement of Results from the Quality Council for Trade & Occupations (QCTO).
